- 2 chicken breasts
- 2 large onions, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- Baguette slices for serving
Instructions
- Heat olive oil and butter in a pan over medium heat.
- Add sliced onions, salt, and pepper. Cook until onions are caramelized.
- Remove onions from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add chicken breasts and cook until browned on both sides.
- Add beef broth and thyme to the chicken. Simmer until chicken is cooked through.
- Top each chicken breast with caramelized onions and Gruyere cheese.
- Cover the pan and cook until cheese melts.
- Serve with baguette slices.
