- 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Soak chicken pieces in buttermilk for at least 2 hours.
- In a bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Remove chicken from buttermilk and let excess drip off.
- Dredge chicken pieces in the flour mixture until well coated.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry chicken in batches for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot.

- For extra flavor, marinate chicken overnight.
- Adjust spice levels to taste.
