Ingredients

  • 4 lbs pork shoulder
  • 2 cups barbecue sauce
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 8 hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Mix the spices together in a bowl.
  3. Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder.
  4. Place the pork in a roasting pan and cover with foil.
  5. Bake for 6 hours or until the pork is tender.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  7. Shred the pork using two forks.
  8. Mix the shredded pork with barbecue sauce.
  9. Serve on hamburger buns.

Notes

  • You can cook the pork in a slow cooker for 8 hours on low.
  • Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper for spice level.
