Ingredients

- 2 cups hominy
- 1 pound pork shoulder, cut into chunks
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- Salt to taste
- 2 limes, cut into wedges
- Radishes, for garnish
- Cabbage, shredded, for garnish
- Avocado, diced, for garnish
Instructions
- Rinse the hominy under cold water.
- In a large pot, combine pork, chicken broth, onion, garlic, cumin, oregano, and salt.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1.5 hours.
- Add hominy and simmer for an additional 30 minutes.
- Serve hot with lime wedges, radishes, cabbage, and avocado on the side.
Notes
- Adjust seasoning to your taste.
- Can use chicken or turkey instead of pork.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
