Profiteroles July — Classic: 10 Steps to Heavenly Bliss

Classic profiteroles filled with cream and topped with chocolate sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a saucepan, combine water and butter. Bring to a boil.
  3. Stir in flour and salt until the mixture forms a ball.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  8. Let cool completely.
  9. Whip the cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  10. Fill each profiterole with whipped cream.
  11. Melt chocolate chips and drizzle over filled profiteroles.
