- 4 lbs pork shoulder
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Mix the spices in a bowl to create a dry rub.
- Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder.
- Place the pork in a roasting pan and cover with foil.
- Bake for 6 hours or until the meat is tender and shreds easily.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Shred the pork using two forks.
- Mix the shredded pork with BBQ sauce and apple cider vinegar.
- Serve on buns or with your favorite sides.
Notes
- Let the pork rest before shredding for easier handling.
- Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper for desired heat.
- Can be made a day in advance and reheated.
