Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp black pepper

  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Wood chips for smoking

Instructions

  1. Prepare the brisket by trimming excess fat.
  2. Mix salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  3. Rub the spice mix all over the brisket.
  4. Let the brisket sit at room temperature for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat your smoker to 225°F.
  6. Place wood chips in the smoker.
  7. Smoke the brisket for 1.5 hours per pound.
  8. Spray with beef broth every hour.
  9. Check for an internal temperature of 195°F.
  10. Remove from smoker and let it rest for 30 minutes before slicing.
